Step into the world of ancient Korea through a special exhibition that highlights the artistic legacy of the Baekje Kingdom and Korea’s broader cultural heritage.
The Korean Cultural Center Los Angeles (KCCLA, Director Lee Haedon), in collaboration with Chungnam Institute of History and Culture (Director Kim Nak-jung), proudly presents the special exhibition, Baekje: The Hidden Cultural Heritage of Korea - From Baekje to the Present, on view from June 26th - August 4th, 2025, at the Korean Cultural Center, Los Angeles (5505 Wilshire Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90036).
This landmark exhibition presented for the first time in the United States illuminates the profound artistic legacy and lesser-known cultural heritage of Chungcheongnam-do, the heartland of the ancient Baekje Kingdom. Through the lenses of art and history, this exhibition offers a unique opportunity to explore the beauty, innovation, and international influence of Baekje culture, which was recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2015.
The exhibition will span two floors of the Cultural Center: the 1st floor Permanent Exhibition Hall and the 2nd floor Special Exhibition Gallery. Visitors will be able to experience the refined elegance of Baekje’s artistic world and the cultural richness of Chungcheongnam-do Province through a variety of displays and programs. These include media art showcasing the four seasons of Chungnam, representative sculptures, traditional textiles, intangible cultural heritage content, promotional videos, and interactive experiences.
We invite all visitors to immerse themselves in the ancient Baekje Kingdom's rich history and take away the significant inspiration and resonance of Korean culture.
