The Korean Cultural Center Los Angeles (Wijin Park, Director) and Korean traditional music (Gugak) artist, Seo-Yoon Jang present a special online project, English Pansori Series 'Korean Traditional Music 101' Ep 5. Sugung-Ga on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 on the KCCLA YouTube channel.

This episode is a part from Pansori Sugung-ga which is 'Portrait of the Rabbit' from the Song of the Under Water Palace. Dragon King who rules the ocean falls ill and the only cure to save his life requires a rabbit's liver. When King orders to bring a rabbit alive to the underwater palace, his loyal liege turtle Byuljubu volunteers to go. However, he does not have a clue of a rabbit's appearance, therefore the King calls in a painter to draw a portrait of a rabbit and hands it to Byuljubu.

English Pansori Series is including an important or a highlight piece of a Pansori repertoire.
