The Korean Cultural Center Los Angeles (KCCLA) & Korea Calligraphy Art Association (KCAA) proudly present Korean Calligraphy Exhibition ‘Hangeul blooms all over the world,’ which will take place from November 3rd to November 25th at the Korean Cultural Center Art Gallery, located at 5505 Wilshire Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90036.

The word ‘calligraphy’ itself comes from the Classical Greek word kaligrafia, meaning "the art of beautiful writing, elegant penmanship.” In particular, the beautiful meaning of Hangeul can be found in Hangeul calligraphy where a familiar yet completely new level of artistic elegance is conveyed through a balance of spaces.

Since its establishment in 2014, the Korea Calligraphy Art Association has been leading the way in promoting the excellence and beauty of Hangeul through calligraphy. This exhibition is being held for the first time in Los Angeles and showcases the artworks of 48 member artists whose works reveal ‘Hangeul’ through a variety of materials and expression techniques. This exhibition is even more meaningful as attendees can appreciate the wonderful works of these artists, which reflect his or her individuality in one place.

For this special occasion, "Korean name writing" will be held by Jung-soo Lim who is the president of KCAA, where attendees will have the chance to learn more about Korean calligraphy as well as enjoy having their names written out in the Korean alphabet.

The opening reception will be held on Thursday, November 3rd, 2022 at 7:00 p.m.
