KCCLA, LA Harbor College hosts 'Taste of Korea ' Culinary Competition Featuring Korean Traditional Jang(Fermented Sauces)
On May 23, the Korean Cultural Center Los Angeles(KCCLA), in collaboration with LA Harbor College, will host the "Taste of Korea" Culinary Competition. This event celebrates the recent inscription of "Jang Making Culture in Korea" as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage(2024), aiming to raise awareness and appreciation for Korea's traditional fermented sauces Doenjang(soybean paste), Ganjang(soy sauce), and Gochujang(red chili paste).
The event will also feature public workshops demonstrating how to use jang in everyday cooking, as well as tasting booths presented by the Jeollanamdo and Chungcheongnamdo U.S. offices, introducing Korea's regional specialties.
