The Korean Cultural Center Los Angeles (KCCLA) & Korean-American Calligraphy Association proudly present the fourth exhibition of the 2019 LA Art Project, < The 29th Annual Exhibition of Korean-American Calligraphy Association >, which will take place from August 22nd to August 30th at the Korean Cultural Center Art Gallery, located at 5505 Wilshire Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90036.
Since its inception in 1990, many veteran artists endeavored to further develop the Korean calligraphy association for the past 29 years. Among these talented artists, we have invited the works of two artists who have passed on (Artist Sun Wuk Kim and Artist Byeong Hee Yu) along with works of other popular 'Seo-ye' (Korean Calligraphy) artists in Korea for the locals in Los Angeles to enjoy. As an attempt to unfold exchanges between U.S. and Korea and for many younger generations to get more involved with Korean traditional art, we have also invited second-generation Korean-American calligraphy carving artist.
"The 29th Annual Exhibition of Korean-American Calligraphy Association" comprises 47 artworks including various calligraphy characters & Korean traditional paintings from 47 calligraphy artists from Korean-American Calligraphy Association.
For this special occasion, "Calligraphy Demonstration" will be held by Korean American calligraphers, Ms. Young Ae L. Hahn, and Mr. Sang Han, where people will be able to learn Korean calligraphy themselves. This will take place on Thursday, August 22nd, 2019 from 6:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. right before the opening reception.
The exhibition is open to the public and the opening reception will be held on Thursday, August 22nd, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. at the KCCLA 2nd floor art gallery. The show will run until August 30th, 2019. If you are interested in attending the opening ceremony or for more information, please RSVP at www.kccla.org or call 323-936-3014.
