The Korean Cultural Center, Los Angeles is pleased to announce the 2020 Online Taekwondo Poomsae Championships, an online competition that will be accepting video submissions via email from September 14 - September 30, 2020. The online competition and screening period will take place between October 3 - October 4, 2020 with the online submissions that were received, and results will be announced on October 7, 2020.
To participate, those who hold a Black Belt (1 Dan or 1 Poom and above) should submit a recording of an individual performance no longer than a minute and a half. All participants will be divided into gender and four subdivisions: Youth, Cadet, Junior, and Senior which are divided into age groups, ranging from age 6 - 40, with specified forms of six different recognized Poomsae (Taeguek 7, Taeguek 8, Koryo, Tae Baek, Keum Gang, and Ship Jin).
All submitted Poomsae video performances must comply with the World Taekwondo Association Poomsae Competition Rules. The scoring panel will be composed of 10 judges from Asia, Africa, Europe, and Pan America who all hold International Poomsae Referee Certifications. In addition, the Vice-Chairman of the World Taekwondo Federation will take part in scoring the individual performances into rankings accordingly.
