A Banquet of traditional dance portrayed as a magnificent landscape
The Banquet, composed with traditional dance repertories of Korean dance masters, contains the past and present of Korean dance. The piece set an unprecedented record for Korean dance piece by selling out every show since the premier, and its contemporary interpretation of tradition was highly acclaimed by both audiences and critics.
Court dance that took place in Jongmyo ritual, Buddhist dance rituals like Barachum, and a collection of folk dance forms like Jangguchum are arranged with the changes of seasons. The banquet of dance unfolding on white stage in five traditional colors will strongly captivate the audience, with the highlight at the end with 50 people dancing new-Taepyeongmu(Dance of Peace).
